In September 1996, on a day filled with great anticipation, the FSU Varsity Club opened the doors to the new facility in Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time. The day marked a time when the former athletes of Florida State University had their first chance to see the visible changes that were taking place. What had not been seen by most were the months of planning and preparation that brought this major project full circle. In the Spring of 1995, the Varsity Club was granted a new space in the stadium to host club activities.

While tentative designs were being drawn up, Varsity Club volunteers began the long process of raising money for the new Club. As more and more pledges came in, it became apparent that the dream of having a Club within the stadium with a view of the field was going to become a reality.

In Fall 2002, the Varsity Club opened its second level skybox with an additional 135 seats.  The expanded facilities accommodate 1,500 members during football games.  The facility is utilized throughout the year by university staff and athletes as additional meeting space and the Varsity Club serves as a great location for team and sport reunions.

The reception area provides an ideal gathering place for former athletes to visit with old friends, team mates and coaches. This unique gathering spot is something the Varsity Club is proud to offer. It is truly a place all of our former athletes can call home.

The 2 suites feature 325 permanent seats available exclusively to former athletes.
